Green steel summit, Washington May 2010

Want to know about the steel industry and carbon? For those who want to find out, Steel Business Briefing will be hosting the first ever conference on steel and carbon in Washington on 20 and 21 May.
This innovative Green Steel Summit will examine the various ways that the steel industry’s emissions are and could being viewed – by the industry, governments, plant suppliers, customers, academics and analysts. It will focus on how the steel industry is reacting to the changes being sought by governments as they seek to cut global CO2 emissions. The steel industry contributes 5% or more of the world’s carbon dioxide. For all involved in the steel industry, or carbon trading this is a must attend event. Many fear that stringent regulations will push the steel-making industry out of Europe and North America into Brazil, Russia and India.
